Obviously, our cleaning services San Diego are great (yes, that is a shameless plug) but did you know that there are many things that you can do yourself when it comes to keeping your kitchen looking spotless? Not only does it look much nicer, you also reduce bacteria and other nastiness in your kitchen when you keep it clean. These are a few cleaning tips that you could probably use right now.
Remove stone countertop stains
Now a stain is not going to do much in the way of causing health problems, but if you invest in a stone countertop, you want it looking its nicest. Even cleaning services San Diego have been known to use this recipe. Add a bit of hydrogen peroxide in water, add in a few drops of ammonia and those juice and coffee stains are going to come right out.
Cleaning tile floors
Keeping tile floors looking their best does not have to be difficult. You can create your own homemade cleaner by adding water and baking soda. For every two gallons of water, you want to add a half a cup of baking soda. Scrub it out with a sponge or string mop.
Cleaning cast iron
Do you have one of those old cast iron pans or skillets? If so, you know that they are ideal for cooking, but can be a pain to clean. A quick way to clean your cast iron is by putting your pan or skillet over medium heat and adding two tablespoons of oil. Once the pan has been heated, add three tablespoons of salt to the pan. Now grab a pair of tongs and scour the pan with a paper towel until it is clean. Rinse the pan under water and add vegetable oil to cure.
If you want to remove tarnish from brass and copper pots, pans, and fixtures, you should try some ketchup – that is right, it is not just for French Fries anymore. Dab a little bit of ketchup on a soft cloth and rub it into the affected area. Rinse the area with warm water and you should see quite an improvement.
Of course, you can always just hire a professional cleaning company, instead! What are you waiting for?
